I listened on Spotify, but wanted to drop a like and comment to boost the algorithm here. Always a fine listen for a work day. Thanks for all the work you put in. I'm excited about the next episode with this historian you mentioned.
I think a huge issue right now in the subculture is that there are just so many bands trying to exactly replicate Joy Division and The Cure, or both at the same time. Plus, some post-punk bands from the 80's being mislabelled goth, when they were in fact just post-punk; Joy Division and Echo & The Bunnymen being the most obvious examples. It just seems like people will label any post-punk goth right now just because said bands have sad lyrics. I know this shouldn't bother me but they are kind of fucking with the bands that I listened to as a teen in the 80's that got me through a lot of crap and it's just so frustrating. So much misinformation going on right now.

Perfect length to work on gothic DIY projects haha. 🖤
I had to watch this in 3 stages but I finished it. I want to thank you all for the video.
This is soooo awesome! I can literally drive to work with a sort of goth radio! And no stress of stations or static!
