Lyrics:

Orchids stay wide awake
Kissing shadow shapes

Don’t you want a taste

I’m the skin you crave
Reclined in velvet shade
Dripping wet in the orchid rain

Don’t you want a taste

La, la, la la la la
Bet you’ve never had a man like me
La, la, la la la la
A lover who can set you free
Oh baby, oh lover, hold on to me

Your silken kisses traced
By a trail of violet lace
Cover you in my mouth, in my praise

Don’t you want a taste

La, la, la la la la
Bet you’ve never had a man like me
La, la, la la la la
A lover who can set you free
Oh baby, oh lover, hold on to me

Call my name in the orchid rain

La, la, la la la la
Bet you’ve never had a man like me
La, la, la la la la
A lover who can set you free
Oh baby, oh lover, hold on to me

  1. I can always tell the difference between European bands from the American's, just from the guitar work alone. Yes, it's reminiscent of older Goth bands; however, I find modern European bands sound cleaner and well defined. "Death-rock" was a very short-lived period in music history, when punk bands were finally learning how to properly play their instruments correctly, eventually they developed a true Goth sound.

Before people get angry with me, all I can say is, that I know — Because, I was there… !!!

  2. Excellent production quality. On most low budget Gothic they don't have all the drums mic'd individually. It sounds like there's 13 musicians in the band. I don't know that anyone will care for this reference but I would compare it stylistically and in production quality and musicianship to Virgin Prunes.
Without whom there would be no Gothic or as we called it then deathrock
A compliment by comparison yes but a comparison of extreme quality.
Virgin prunes always had access to studio quality production because of course the guitarist being the brother of The Edge and this leads back to my Virgin prunes comparison
That lead guitar is total VP.
I kind of never get tired of hearing it. 40 years now. And I like this song as much as the first one I heard. And of course I'm listening now as I'm writing this and it just gets better and better, great fucking song but watch out for those solos
